Backstory for A Grave Kind of Love
I think an essential part of a writer’s job is to put yourself in other people’s shoes. You can’t, after all, write stories filled with people just like you. Well… I guess you can, but that, frankly, sounds like a horror story.
This was my attempt, in part, to try to feel like what it might be to be someone very different from myself. And I was also trying to write a holiday romance between two ghosts, plus see what Christmas might be like in the graveyard.
This story has been around a bit. It was originally published as part of the 2019 WMG Holiday Spectacular. It was reprinted in Joyous Christmas, Pulphouse Fiction Magazine: Issue #21, and Winter Wonders: Twelve Magical Holiday Stories.
